Implementing Relevant Sections of the Deficit Reduction Act (DRA) Officials from Medicaids Disabled and Elderly Health Programs Group will discuss new state plan options for Home and Community Based Services and for Personal Assistance and Self-Directed Services. Find out how CMS plans to implement these new options and how they might impact state DD service systems. There will also be Medicaid officials on hand to discuss the Medicaid Fraud and Abuse provisions of the DRA.
Understanding Special Needs Plans Special Needs Plans (SNPs) are a new variety of Medicare managed care that can be used to integrate and coordinate Medicare and Medicaid services. They are growing rapidly and are likely to have an impact on your states Medicaid program. Medicare officials will be on hand to discuss the opportunities presented by SNPs and to answer questions regarding potential pitfalls for state DD service systems. SNPs are coming; this session is a perfect opportunity to be prepared to make them work for your state system.
FORUM REGISTRATION:
The registration fee is $95 and includes meeting materials, morning and afternoon refreshments, and a luncheon at the hotel. (The registration fee does not include hotel reservations and/or transportation to the meeting.)
