CONFERENCE Theme

State service systems for people with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) and their families continue to adapt to rapid changes in the state and federal environment. Our nation's economic uncertainty, federal and state strategies to increase efficiency, health and federal health care reform initiatives, and transformational technology to support community living all present an intricate set of challenges and ideas.

Good futures for people with I/DD and their families require leadership that keeps innovating, builds on current service delivery strengths, and stays focused on outcomes.

The NASDDDS Mid-Year Conference & Directors Forum will provide information and learning sessions about what service delivery trends indicate and a 'technology showcase', highlighting technology opportunities for today and the future. Further, the conference will offer examples of how states have become nimble in moving forward in dynamic environments with service systems that are cost efficient and person-centered.
