ADD
The Administration on Developmental Disabilities (ADD) grants support programs
that protect the rights and promote the self-sufficiency of Americans with
developmental disabilities and their families. Funds help state governments,
local communities, and the private sector to integrate these people socially
and economically into mainstream society.
CMS
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) administers the Medicare
and Medicaid programs, which provide health care to about one in every four
Americans. Medicare provides health insurance for more than 39 million elderly
and disabled Americans. Medicaid, a joint federal-state program, provides
health coverage for more than 34 million low-income persons, including nearly
18 million children and nursing home coverage for low-income elderly.
DEHPG
Disabled and Elderly Health Programs Group (DEHPG). The website for e-Reporting
and workflow automation of programs administered by DEHPG. The Technical
Assistance Database will allow you to see the wide range of activities
that support and enrich the grantees under the New Freedom Initiative. The
database will contain important information regarding existing and upcoming
research products, conferences, and significant meetings as well as a wide
variety of toolkits, surveys, and policy briefs, intended to be of interested
to the disability and long-term care community.
DisabilityInfo.gov
DisabilityInfo.gov is a one-stop federal website designed to offer people
with disabilities and many others access to the information and resources
they need to live full and independent lives in the workplace and in their
communities. Managed by the US Department of Labors Office of Disability
Employment Policy (ODEP), DisabilityInfo.gov offers a broad range of valuable
information, not only for people with disabilities, but also their family
members, employers, service providers and many others.
OCR
The Department of Health and Human Services, through the Office for Civil
Rights (OCR), promotes and ensures that people have equal access to and opportunity
to participate in and receive services in all HHS programs without facing
unlawful discrimination. Through prevention and elimination of unlawful discrimination,
the Office for Civil Rights helps HHS carry out its overall mission of improving
the health and well-being of all people affected by its many programs.

Language
This website is maintained by the Plain Language Action & Information
Network, a government-wide group of volunteers working to improve communications
from the federal government to the public. The site contains lots of resources
to help writers achieve the goal of clear communication and to make it possible
for people to understand what is written the first time they read it, especially
materials that tell people how to obtain benefits or comply with requirements.
