Adam Sass to Join NASDDDS as New Community Life Engagement Project Specialist NASDDDS is pleased to

Most recently, Adam was the Community Resource Manager for Employment and Integrated Day Services at Virginia’s Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities where he coordinated the development of the state’s Employment First Initiative and the development of Community Integration Services.  These efforts resulted in the writing of the state’s Employment First Policy, implementation of regulatory language to support practice, and providing guidance and recommendations on how best to redesign Virginia’s waiver system to support community based services. Adam promoted interagency collaboration to review state policies regarding increasing opportunities for individuals to receive supports in the most integrated setting. In addition to being Virginia’s representative on the State Employment Leadership Network, Adam also provided training and technical assistance to a variety of stakeholder groups.

Adam has been working on employment for people with disabilities for many years and started his work in the field as an employment specialist.  Adam has experience working in England for two years as the first American Team Leader helping at-risk youth secure employment.  He has also worked as the Director of Training and Placement Programs overseeing a staff of over 50 professionals delivering services to people with disabilities, refugees, Welfare-to-Work participants and residents of the city’s public housing communities.

NASDDDS is delighted to have Adam join us as a new member of our team!
