The group meets at least quarterly to review best practices; field advancements; and make recommendations for needed areas of focus in I/DD research both for NASDDDS projects and the larger I/DD community.

SUMMARY:Residential Support Services for Individuals with Complex Support Needs
DESCRIPTION:Members only–As state I/DD agencies continually work to enhance quality services and supports for people with I/DD\, there is a growing need identified among member states to increase integrated\, community-based residential options that provide specialized treatment and highly individualized supports for individuals who present with complex support needs. Based on the level of interest NASDDDS members have expressed on this topic\, NASDDDS will facilitate an Affinity Group for Residential Support Services for Individuals with Complex Support Needs\, and want to welcome all state directors and/or their designees that are interested in participating. \nThe Purpose of the Affinity Group 1. Explore promising practices for in-home and small\, residential options for this population 2. Identify successful interagency partnership strategies 3. Frame strategies within the guidepost of quality clinical supports embedded as part of the overall tenets of inclusion\, choice\, community\, and self-determination 4. Provide suggestions on policy\, funding and practice changes that hold the potential for positive systems change.

SUMMARY:NASDDDS Panel Discussion: Using NCI in Quality Improvement
DESCRIPTION:Members Only- \nStates have long relied on data available from participation in National Core Indicators© (NCI©)\, to measure quality in their DD service delivery system. As the use of NCI across the service delivery system has grown\, DD quality systems have broadened and matured in their approach to quality improvement. Quality systems can vary across states and the states have different and effective approaches to incorporating NCI data into their overall quality improvement system. On this webinar\, a panel of state quality staff from several DD systems will share their perspectives and experiences regarding the use of NCI data as an integral piece of their quality improvement systems. \nObjectives:\n1. Recognize the importance of incorporating NCI measures into quality systems\n2. Hear different approaches for the use of NCI measures to ensure quality in DD service delivery systems.\n3.
