• Range 68 ($35,092.80 – $58,692.00 Annually).
• Salary will be commensurate with experience. Limitations apply to current State employees.

• Bachelor’s degree in therapeutic recreation, recreation, or closely related field.
• 24 months or more in recreation, physical education, or therapeutic activities.

• Plans and conducts a variety of specifically assigned patient activities appropriate for the program.
• Confers with other members of the patient’s treatment teams.
• Writes and updates individualized treatment plans that document treatment being provided in accordance with CMS, The Joint Commission, and hospital regulations.
• Ensures adequate coverage is provided for assigned areas and activities.
• Completes initial and annual assessments, discharge summaries, and transfer notes.
• Provides supervision to the recreation/rehabilitative staff who assist in providing activities/programs for patients on and off the living areas.
• Works with the Director of Therapeutic Recreation and Program Director in developing, planning, implementing, and evaluating new programs and special events.

• Knowledge of the basic theories and practices of the therapeutic use of various activities.
• Knowledge of the nature and specifications of equipment and supplies needed for the assigned activities program and their proper care and maintenance.
• Knowledge of theory and practices of mental hygiene.
• Ability to utilize professional data in planning and evaluating activity programs and to adapt and implement such programs as required.

• Applicants will be rated based on an evaluation of their job-related training, abilities, experience, and education, and should provide adequate work history identifying experiences related to the duties and minimum qualifications as mentioned above.
