SALARY
• Range 80 ($58,692.00 – $98,678.40 Annually).
• Salary will be commensurate with experience. Limitations apply to current State employees.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Four (4) years’ experience as a Registered Nurse, including two (2) years’ experience in a supervisory capacity.
OR
• Graduation from an accredited four (4) year college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
• Three (3) years’ experience as a Registered Nurse, including two (2) years’ experience in a supervisory capacity.
OR
• Graduation from a four (4) year college or university with a Master’s degree in Nursing.
• One (1) year experience in a supervisory capacity.

Human services field includes the following disciplines: Social Work, Psychology, Criminal/Juvenile Justice, Special Education, Sociology, Speech Education, Rehabilitation, Counseling, Speech Pathology, Audiology, Nursing, Physical or Occupational Therapy, and any related academic disciplines associated with the study of Human Behavior, Human Skill Development, or Basic Human Care Needs.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT
• Possession of a certificate of registration to practice nursing as issued by the Alabama Board of Nursing.
KIND OF WORK
• Serves as the regional nurse and is responsible for all certified programs that offer residential, day, and support services through the Medicaid Waiver.
• Ensures the programs are compliant with Home and Community Based service regulations and nurse delegation standards.
• Provides technical assistance and consultation to residential, day, and support service providers in the region to facilitate compliance with standards, regulations, and best practices in health care.
• Monitors contracted day, residential, and support programs to address quality of life issues.
• Provides health care training for staff of community agencies and related organizations in the region.
• Investigates, monitors, and follows up on incidents such as injuries, illnesses, complaints, and abuse and neglect allegations.
• Completes comprehensive death reviews.
• Provides assessment of individual health need in special cases.
• Assists in the development of community supports, transition services, follow-up, health care services, and emergency admissions to meet individual needs.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
• Knowledge of evidence-based principles and practices relative to substance use prevention services.
• Knowledge of developmental disabilities.
• Knowledge of psychotropic medication.
• Knowledge of Performance Improvement practices.
• Ability to document and maintain accurate records.
• Ability to collect and analyze data.
• Ability to effectively manage complex situations, problem solving, and conflict resolution.
• Ability to exercise professional judgment and make sound decisions.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to conduct training.
• Ability to think logically to include the ability to interpret medical findings, establish priorities and schedule tasks fairly.
• Ability to organize and complete work in a timely manner.
