NASDDDS Board of Directors Update

NASDDDS is pleased to announce that, effective January 8, 2020, Mark A. Thomas of Louisiana began serving as the association’s President. Mr. Thomas is currently the Deputy Secretary of the Louisiana Department of Health. In his previous role, Mr. Thomas served as the Assistant Secretary at the Office for Citizens with Developmental Disabilities. He brings more than 25 years of experience in the field of developmental disabilities and a wealth of knowledge that will be of great benefit to the association.

On January 7th, NASDDDS bid farewell to long-time Board member and President, Alex Bartolic, of Minnesota as she moved into retirement. The association is grateful for Ms. Bartolic’s many years of leadership and her extraordinary contributions supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Minnesota and nationally.

 Filling Mr. Thomas’ previous role as the association’s Vice President will be Mary Brogan from Hawaii. Ms. Brogan is the Administrator of the Developmental Disabilities Division within Hawaii’s Department of Health.  Jordan Scheff, Commissioner of the Department of Developmental Services in Connecticut, will assume the Treasurer/Secretary position.  These positions will be confirmed by membership at the NASDDDS Mid-Year Directors Forum. The NASDDDS Board of Directors is responsible for administering the affairs of the association and establishing all organizational policies.
