Washington State was featured in the NASDDDS podcast, Navigating The Storm: Technology Use During Emergencies developed for the virtual conference held in early June. The podcast explores several areas of technology affected by COVID-19 and asks many questions moving forward.  What technology innovations have become mainstream during the pandemic that state I/DD systems hope will continue? What lessons have been learned from the need to quickly scale widespread use of technology? How have telehealth, telemedicine, remote supports, and other types of technology changed the landscape of I/DD support systems? What feedback have you received from people with I/DD, families, support coordinators, providers and state employees about how the technology met their needs and what they would like to see implemented in the future? The podcast features Evelyn Perez, Assistant Secretary for the Developmental Disabilities Services Administration for Washington State’s Social and Health Services Department and Emily Shea Tanis, PhD, Director of Policy and Advocacy at the Coleman Institute for Cognitive Disabilities at the University of Colorado.
