NRCPDS Releases FLSA Tool Kit

The National Resource Center for Participant Directed Services (NRCPDS) has released a Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) Home Care Rule Tool Kit. The tool kit is a resource for participant direction program stakeholders in response to new rules promulgated by the US Department of Labor (DOL) that will take effect January 1, 2015.  Additional tools and resources will be added to the tool kit as well.

The kit includes a chart titled “Joint Employment Indicators in Consumer Direction,” a set of decision trees designed to “help stakeholders navigate the new FLSA home care rules and maintain compliance with these rules,” and an outline of frameworks for four proposed models that can be used in consumer direction programs to respond to the new FLSA requirements. On September 8, 2014 at 3:00PM Eastern, the NRCPDS will present a webinar to guide attendees through the toolkit.
