South Dakota Director Dan Lusk Receives CQL International Award of Excellence

The news release explains that South Dakota DDD and CQL have a long history of working together to enhance services and supports for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).  All of the Community Support Provider agencies in South Dakota are accredited by CQL. Under Lusk’s guidance, the state has certified 40 additional Personal Outcome Measures® interviewers across the state to focus on what really matters to people with I/DD and increasing quality of services throughout the system.

“Dan doesn’t just talk about things in terms of philosophy, he takes action,” says Cathy Ficker Terrill, President and CEO of CQL.  “In my opinion, there is no one more deserving of this award.” CQL is presenting the International Award of Excellence at the 2015 CQL Conference, themed ‘Outcomes: The Gateway to Quality,’ in recognition of best practices in human services.

Dan was quoted in the article saying “The work we do every day is about the people and their families, and ensuring the systems of support continue to evolve so people are able to achieve a good life, success in competitive jobs and meaningful relationships in their communities.”

NASDDDS offers our sincere congratulations to Dan on this well-deserved award!
