1915(c) Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Waiver

The 1915(c) HCBS waiver provides Medicaid funding for home and community-based services to individuals who otherwise would meet the eligibility requirements for Medicaid-funded institutional care. The HCBS waiver permits states to use funds that otherwise would have been used for institutional services to purchase home and community-based services.
