Mississippi Adopts Employment Executive Order

To assist in this effort, a group of self-advocates, agency representatives, and community members will be appointed to review and recommend changes each year.

According to the executive order, this law will enable persons with disabilities to have the same opportunities as the general public as they seek employment.  It will also assist in efforts to move towards a system of self-sufficiency where individuals with disabilities feel included, productive, and able to contribute to the lives of others and their communities.

Mississippi’s Bureau of Developmental Disabilities has developed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation and planning training for all Waiver Support Coordinators, Waiver providers and VR Counselors.
