Cross-System Strategies to Support Children with Complex Behavioral Health Conditions

Children with complex behavioral health conditions often rely on multiple state systems including developmental disabilities, Medicaid, behavioral health, child welfare, education, juvenile justice. This webinar will examine practical, cross-system strategies that states can use to strengthen coordination, reduce fragmentation, and improve outcomes for children with complex behavioral health conditions and their families.
The session includes substantial clinical context to provide a strong foundation for understanding children with complex behavioral support needs and for designing effective, responsive treatment and programs. The policies, program models, and treatment approaches to be discussed have demonstrated effectiveness in practice. The recommendations shared are both achievable and scalable—grounded in real-world implementation already underway in state systems across the country.
