SSA Suspends CDRs During Coronavirus Crisis

The Social Security Administration (SSA) has issued a notice about its activities during the coronavirus pandemic. According to the notice, SSA will not be engaging in several activities that may be relevant to state DD systems.

SSA has suspended the following workloads until further notice:

  • SSA will not start or complete any current medical continuing disability reviews (CDRs).
  • Where possible, SSA is suspending processing and collection of overpayments.
  • SSA is not conducting organization or individual representative payee accountings.
  • SSA will not process a third party requests for information, except from appointed representatives and representative payees
